When upgrading to 2.8.9, the upgrade halts with the output

 /bin/sed: can't read /home/bob/sage-2.8.7/local/lib/libgmp.la: No such
 file or directory

Having the same problem here. In this case, ~/custom/sage-2.8.8.1/
doesn't even exist, but ~/custom/sage does :
/bin/sed: can't read
/home/dfdeshom/custom/sage-2.8.8.1/local/lib/libgmp.la: No such file
or directory
libtool: link: `/home/dfdeshom/custom/sage-2.8.8.1/local/lib/libgmp.la'
is not a valid libtool archive

I don't remember having this problem before.

[sage-devel] Re: Issue during upgrade

2007-10-28 Thread Bobby Moretti

Sorry, accidentally hit send before I wrote anything :).

When upgrading to 2.8.9, the upgrade halts with the output

/bin/sed: can't read /home/bob/sage-2.8.7/local/lib/libgmp.la: No such
file or directory

I renamed the directory /home/bob/sage-2.8.7 to /home/bob/sage.
Something in sage -upgrade seems to be depending the hardcoded
absolute path.

(This is while installing libfplll)

The temporary fix was to symlink ~/sage-2.8.7 to ~/sage.
