[sage-support] Lost worksheets

2013-10-06 Thread Dan Aldrich
A while back I mentioned that I was losing worksheets. I noticed
today what was going on.

I select new worksheet, but I don't get a new worksheet, but an older
(usually the last opened) and comes up w/ a rename panel. Sometimes
the worksheet number gets updated (daldrich/47 to daldrich/48) but
sometimes it doesn't.

[sage-support] Lost worksheets

2013-04-17 Thread Dan Aldrich
I'm still having problems with worksheets getting lost. My older worksheets
seem to be in place. Sometimes it happens the same day, I write a worksheet in
the morning and in the evening it doesn't appear when I log in at home.

[sage-support] lost worksheets

2008-01-28 Thread Marshall Hampton

I now have 14 students actively using Sage on 3 different servers, and
I have run across a mysterious problem I haven't seen reported here
before. Three of my students had worksheets suddenly go missing,
without a deliberate delete. I looked in the notebook files and the
worksheets were still there, just not visible on the list of
worksheets. Any guesses on what happened? As a stopgap, I manually
pasted in the worksheet text to a new copy, but if this happens a lot
it will really aggravate them.

[sage-support] Lost worksheets

2007-12-28 Thread shahab

I setup Sage 2.9.1 (binary) on a windows machine (vmware, running
ubuntu 7.10) where the vmware file was located on what I thought was a
safe institution SAN drive. Of course after working on couple of
worksheets for a long time and inviting my colleagues to see them,
there was a problem with the SAN server's UPS and the IT department
had to shut all of them down for a short time which then killed my
running vmware program without me knowing it.

After restarting everything, it appears now that my worksheets have
been lost/corrupted and all I get is a blank notebook (I had to
reassign admin password) and all the users I had setup have
disappeared.

There is a file in the ~/.sage/sage_notebooks/backup section. Could
this possibly help me recover my worksheets?

Thanks for a great system,

Shahab
