[sage-support] SAGE install Error on Linux Mint 13

Greetings Experts:

  I have recently become a Linux user, 
I have attempted to install Sage, my first attempt was a binary tar.gz , 
didn’t get very far with that , this attempt from ( Univ of Washington


  mirror)  to install a source and 
make from terminal  showed lots of progress till problems with gcc, i 
installed (gcc -v 4.6) from my Synaptic Package Manager...as well as 
other lbs,files,


  etc as they were reported in 
terminal ...my only idea is to install all the gcc versions listed in my 
package manager.I like Python, Linuxand am determined to have 
SAGE...I have


  attached  some docs with system and 
terminal info.need advice from the Pro's.

Please email sage-devel (http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel)
explaining the problem and including the relevant part of the log file
  /home/boss/sage-5.3/spkg/logs/gcc-4.6.3.log
Describe your computer, operating system, etc.
If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, *don't* just cd to
/home/boss/sage-5.3/spkg/build/gcc-4.6.3 and type 'make' or whatever is 
appropriate.
Instead, the following commands setup all environment variables
correctly and load a subshell for you to debug the

Brad,
you can download a pre-compiled version of Sage for UBUNTU and I think
it will work without problem.
