We solved a similar problem by setting some checks in maintenance mode.
One of our servers was having trouble (not the Servers Alive server) and it was
only after a reboot of that server that we could enable the checks again.

(tip for Dirk: add the field Unique ID to each line in the log file, that would
make it easier to detect the check that should be disabled)

Other things to look at are if you do see the interface, what does the last
line show and on the several freeze you got, does that last line points to
something similar each time?
What are the last lines in the logfile?

Try turning that off temporarily and see if you get results. Turn every output
off except email/SMS notifications. See if that changes things.

Syslog is turned off. The only logging I have running is the RRDTools. Which
does write to a HTML page.

We had this issue with Servers Alive. The solution for us was to turn off
Syslog output. We weren't using it anyway, but this seemed to do the trick for
us. Also, make sure that any other output is turned off, such as html output.

I am running on a Virtual 2016 Server in GUI mode. I RDP into the server to

and its fine. This time I decided to check when it last wrote a check file.
it's been frozen for 5 days. I am just getting the windows Spinny Wheel on the
interface. it is still in this state, incase any troubleshooting or suggestion
on how to figure out why its frozen. No CPU usage from the application. 8GB
RAM. 80GB free. this is the only thing running on this server. Running
Version 9.1.0.2825
