In SA v7 we still have some IM options, some of them are no longer working (as
the service no longer exists or got integrated into another one).
We would like to know IF you still want IM as alerting and if so what type/kind
of IM you would like to have in SA.

RE: [SA-list] Instant Messaging and Servers Alive

The beta upload will be 2 XMPP settings screens, and it will be possible to
define alerts using those XMPP settings.

Still wondering if you (Victor) as requester are willing to beta test it.

Can't remember that you asked that before...about having multiple XMPP IMs.
Looking at the current GUI I think it should be possible to have within the
setup a 2nd XMPP, using the same setup page as the current XMPP setup page.
Will have to check when I'm realy infront of my dev systems
But based on what I can see and my thoughts on it, I would say that this is
indeed something we can add.

I suppose that you would be willing to test it once we have it?

Hello Dirk,

XMPP, and let me repeat my request :)
Please make gtalk as separate IM type or make possible to use multiple
XMPP IMs.
We have internal IM XMPP based and we could not use gtalk & internal xmpp
at the same time :(

Re: [SA-list] Instant Messaging and Servers Alive

2011-07-24 Thread Kevin Stone
I'd move from ICQ unless you have a specific need/user for it. AIM, as former
AOL employee, is a great product being slowly killed in the search for
corporate profitability.

The MSN API, while poorly documented, has at least been stable.

I've been focusing our internal IM on Jabber/XMPP since it is open and stable
and is the basis for Google's chat. That offers an easy path to wide external
usage If needed.
