Re: [Samba] "Full name" environment variable?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi again, I've solved my problem: I was using smbpasswd, because I just migrated to Samba 3.0. After I converted my password databse to tdbsam, the full name and the description field in usrmgr are handled correctly. Even if the GECOS field is still a dummy entry, I could change it with a script that parses the output of pdbedit -L. But this is not needed at the moment. [Samba] OS X unable to determine free space
I have a Debian Linux machine running a Samba server. When I connect to it using a windows XP machine, everything seems fine. I can create and delete files from my home share, etc. The free space on the share appears correctly as the overall free space of the partition that share is on in the server. However, when I connect using OS X, it always says 0 free space. If I try and create a file, it succeeds, so long as the app trying to create the files, does not check to see if there will be enough space on the device first. I'm not sure if OS X is at fault or Samba, or more accurately, my configuration of one or the other. Anyone have any advice on this one? [Samba] Compters not logging in ...
Greetings ... I have an FC1 installation with all the updates. I have a few of these, but one of my installations has just freaked out. None of my users can login. I have tried ... [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# smbclient -L //richardsbay -N protocol negotiation failed Which is odd. I have never has this problem. I have tried upgrading samba from the 3.0.2 to 3.0.6 which is the dev of RawHide with no difference. I have tried turning off all security options to see if an upgrade of the Win2K system could have done this, but I'm still getting nowhere. What is got me, is the smbclient will not even list the samba server. Could I ask for a little help with this.
