[Samba] Build problem

2010-07-22 Thread Paras pradhan
Hi,

Where can I see the minimum build requirements ( gcc, make) for samba
3.5.4. I am using gcc 3.2.2 and make 3.79.1 under Solaris 9 and I get the
following error during make.

--
Compiling lib/privileges_basic.c

ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to
bin/libnetapi.so.0

make: *** [bin/libnetapi.so.0] Error 1

Configure looks like:

bash-2.05# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/samba
--with-ldap=/usr/local/openldap-2.4.23/--with-ads --with-krb5=/usr/local
--with-winbind

Thanks!
Paras.

That looks all perfectly fine. The client just disconnects
again after it has done some querying.

How are you starting smbd? It a bit looks like you're
starting it with -i, which for normal server operations is
unfortunately wrong. You should start it with -D and let it
become a daemon.

That's just roughly 1000 lines too little... We need the
full debug level 10 logs.

[Samba] smbldap-useradd fails encryption

2010-07-22 Thread German Molano

Hi there, I config the smbldap-tools with MD5 option

hash_encrypt="MD5"

But when I add a user through Swat the LDAP password entry gets this value

userPassword = {crypt}x

Until I do reset the value to MD5 encryption value the user could logon
sucessfully on the domain.

If I add the user account with command line I get the same values on
LDAP directory

Thanks for your help

2010-07-22 Thread Marcis Lielturks

Hey!

Thanks! This helped to get "id" working, but not smbd. smbd still
exiting when domain admin tries to access share, winbindd and nmbd keep
running.

Last lines from smbd

read_fd_with_timeout: blocking read. EOF from client.
receive_smb_raw: NT_STATUS_END_OF_FILE
setting sec ctx (0, 0) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 0
NT user token: (NULL)
UNIX token of user 0
Primary group is 0 and contains 0 supplementary groups
change_to_root_user: now uid=(0,0) gid=(0,0)
Yielding connection to
Locking key D630
Allocated locked data 0x893dcf8
Unlocking key D630
Server exit (failed to receive smb request)

at the time when smbd kills itself, winbind says "Could not read client
request from fd 17: I/O error"

I can send output from truss (strace) and STDOUT for smbd, nbmd and
winbindd (all running with "-FiS" and debug level 10).

I see you are using Python 2.4.

It seems that samba_dnsupdate needs Python 2.5:

http://docs.python.org/library/functions.html#__import__

"[...] Changed in version 2.5: Keyword support for parameters was added."

Perhaps the Samba4 HOWTO should be updated to state this requirement.

[Samba] ADS join did not work, falling back to RPC

2010-07-22 Thread Hervé Hénoch

Hello,

I want to join a AD 2003 server. Kerberos work fine though I can get
tickets with kinit/klist.

When I try to join the domain I've the following messages :

net join ads -Uadmin
Enter admin's password:
Failed to join domain: failed to find DC for domain ads
*ADS join did not work, falling back to RPC...*
Enter admin's password:
Joined domain MYDOMAIN.
ssctransit:~# net rpc testjoin
Join to 'MYDOMAIN' is OK

So it seems that I've successfully joined the domain. My question : is
the message in bold normal ?

Re: [Samba] Compile 3.5.4 on Opensolaris snv_134

2010-07-22 Thread Mārcis Lielturks
Hi!

Ok, I now have compiled samba, that can join domain. Only thing, compiled
before samba, is MIT Kerberos v5 (notice no LDAP!).
* net ads join - WORKS
* wbinfo -u/-g/-m - WORKS
* nsswitch.conf entries are as follows
passwd: files winbind
group: files winbind
* smbd, nmbd, winbind - RUNNING
* id DOMAIN+user - DOESN'T WORK
* connecting to shares - DOESN'T WORK

What I see in the logs (and on CLI if running with "-FiS") is that samba
(and UNIXs "id") is having trouble getting user information from winbind. I
cannot access shares as domain admin and manage shares when connecting to
samba server from "manage computer" dialog.

Were to look/debug next? Recompile it with newest GNUs gettext and libiconv?
Try to fix the socket options problems?

When tracing smbd with "truss smbd -d10 -FiS" I see some unsuccessfull stats
for nss_winbind.so.1 library (I compiled without --enable-nss-wrapper). For
now I'll try to recompile with this option and see what happens.
