Re: [Samba] samba4 AD controller, production
I did it, but be aware no dfs is working at this time and no real printer issues. To have dfs or printer issuses you want to have a recent samba 3 as domain member serving this Services. If so, what is your overall experience? I am going to make such an install for a site with some 50 users (and frankly speaking, I am frightened ... so give me some courage!) Would you recommend me to go ahead and do it? Latest release? Any feedback is more that appreciated (really)! We (Samba Team) do not provide binary versions for RHAS2.1, sorry. You might want to contact one of the companies listed under http://www.samba.org/samba/support/. Someone there will be able to provide you with the right RPMs. The main challenge will be to set up RHAS2.1 as a build environment. Hi Volker Can you point me in the direction of a binary based download for the later versions of samba? Sure. Latest AD still supports the RPC-based "security=domain" mode that does not require Kerberos at all. However, this assumes SMB signing which is only properly supported from Samba 3.0 on, so an upgrade is necessary here. Your W2k8 can be configured not to require signing, but Samba 2 is so old that I would highly recommend upgrading anyway. [Samba] samba 3.5.x, pdbedit smb.conf and profiles
Who wins the fight for the roaming profile path, "logon path" in smb.conf or "profile path" set by pdbedit? How do you force the "profile path" in pdbedit to get its value from "logon path" in smb.conf? Is it possible to disable roaming profiles by user with pdbedit and leave "logon path" set in smb.conf? Re: [Samba] Windows ACL's on SAMBA file server
Hi, George The files and folder you wnat to give the full permission to perticular user, first add the user in samba server and then five the full permission to the folder. chmod 777 foldername setfacl -m user:username:foldername I think it will be work.
