What mean it, what can I do? Well it's a bit expected that it will fail as the object where you try to rebuild is deleted. I'm currious to understand how you end up in this situation, what is your samba4 version when did you remove the group ? In theory the error will go away when the group is completely removed (180 days after its deletion by default). Hi Dale, I haven't seen anything being updated in the log file under /var/log -- [log.smbd, log.winbindd] when I tried to run these commands in parallel. What error messages are you getting in the logs, and which idmap backend are you using? [Samba] max path length - ExcludeProfileDirs not sufficient - temporary profile
Good evening dear users and developers, I'm using samba 3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze as Domain-Controller for several Windows XP clients. Config below. One user installed a software with settings in C:\documents and settings\martin\.vkbstandalone/.metadata/.plugins/de.vkb.standalone.tomcat/work/catalina/localhost/eba_standalone_web/org/apache/jsp/jsp/composite/angebot/angebot zum versicherungsnehmer/html/angaben zum versicherungsn Indeed quite a long path so i expected problems and used a patch to not sync this specific folder .vkbstandalone to the server ... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogon] "ParseAutoexec"="1" "ExcludeProfileDirs"="Lokale Einstellungen;Temporary Internet Files;Verlauf;Temp;.vkbstandalone" "BuildNumber"=dword:0a28 That works - this path is not synced. Now the strange part: Even though this path is not synced, windows complains about it cannot find the path and serves a temporary profile - WHY?! This path is locally available. snippets from config: domain logons = Yes workgroup = FSH [netlogon] comment = Network Logon Service path = /home/samba/netlogon browseable = No [profiles] comment = Users profiles path = /home/samba/profiles read only = No create mask = 0600 directory mask = 0700 guest ok = Yes browseable = No I would really appreciate any hints and ideas. I have done further investigations about non backup mode ACL copy failure and I'm pretty sure backup mode failure is related to what I found. The problem happens on XFS but not on Ext4. I've been decomposing all ACL attribution with C# client source code, and was able to find exactly where the mess happens. The test is simple : Create a new directory on the destination Foreach ACE in source ACL, copy ACE Failure occurs at the 31st ACE (in Windows GUI). Whatever the ACE is (user, permission, right) or the tool used (code or Windows GUI) , it is impossible to add a new one. I get "The parameter is incorrect".
