[Samba] Samba Compile Error on 3.0.7 and 3.0.8 Pre 1 on X64 Fedora Core 3 Test 2
Hi, I know this is in reference to an old post, but so far its the only other instance of this problem that I've come across. I'm getting the same Compiling dynconfig.c /tmp/cccsbyQh.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/cccsbyQh.s:44: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `mov' /tmp/cccsbyQh.s:97: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `mov' make: *** [dynconfig.o] Error 1 errors when attempting to compile samba 3.0.14a on an intel 64bit p4. Re: [Samba] string overflow in safe_strcpy
Not sure if this will be of any help to anyone else, but I have seem to fixed my own problem. It turns out that the line "mangling method = hash" was causing my log files to fill with the string overflow error (on a side note, it also slowed the smb shares to a crawl on one of the servers). Anyways removing the line seems to have fixed the problem. Hope this helps someone else.
