[Samba] Debugging Password information
Hello, I've some trouble authenticating users via winbind and pam/nsswitch on our DMS. (Debian 3.0.22 Debian Sarge - PDC is SuSE 9.0 with Samba 3.0.14a) If I try to login on my DMS (with ssh for instance) it fails and the PDC logs: [2006/05/25 17:03:05, 2] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(312) check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [jan] - [jan] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD . But I know, that typed the right password and if I run smblient -L pdc -U jan, I'm able to authenticate myself without any problem. What may be wrong here? Re: [Samba] Roaming Profiles
Hello, On Thursday 25 May 2006 09:04, Morné du Plessis wrote: Hi I am using Mandrake 9.2, Samba 2.4 version as a PDC. How do I enable the roaming profiles on the server via /etc/samba/smb.conf? There is no samba 2.4. If you want to use roaming profiles please refere to http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/using_samba/ch04.html ; logon path tells Samba where to put Windows NT/2000/XP roaming profiles logon path = \\%L\profiles\%u\%m logon script = logon.bat (or derived) might by your magic lines. But please don't use them without applying 'em to your enviroment. [Samba] wbinfo -g Error looking up domain groups
Hello, sadly, I've some problem adding a DMS (Sama 3.0.22 on Debian Sarge) to our donain (hosted by Samba 3.0.14 on SuSE 9.0 - not managed by me.). I added my dms by using net rpc join without any problem and wbinfo -u lists all domain users. But somehow wbinfo -g fails with Error looking up domain groups net user -S pdc and net group -S pdc are both working on the dms, but say [2006/05/23 10:37:07, 0] utils/net_ads.c:ads_startup(191) ads_connect: Transport endpoint is not connected when I execute 'em. The relevant(?) parts of my smb.conf are: security = server winbind use default domain = yes idmap uid = 4970-2 idmap gid = 1000-2 template shell = /bin/bash Do you know what's wrong here? Thanks in advance, Keep smiling yanosz -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
[Samba] %L Problem
Greetings well, ehm, Im trying to run two virtual servers (Samba 2.2.0a on Linux 2.4) on one physical. Because of that, I put theses lines intot my smb.conf netbios name = omikron netbios aliases = omega include = /etc/samba/include/%L But it doesn't work. Everytime I type smbclient -L omega or smbclient -L omikron it says: Can't find include file /etc/samba/include/ If I use omega or omikron instead of %L in my smb.conf, everythings works fine. Why samba don't use the macro or why is it an empty string? Which conditions causes the phanomena?
