[Samba] What version of Samba will work with an AIX version of Unix?

2007-05-25 Thread Mark Blake-Smith
Bill

Many thanks for your previous email, I took a look at the link you gave
me and it states that version would only work with AIX version
5.1,5.2,5.3. I have since checked our version of AIX by typing 'lslpp -h
bos.rte' at the prompt and it returned:-

LEVEL 4.3.3.75

I then typed 'oslevel -r' and that reutned a value of 4330-09

Is there a link to a version of Samba that will succesfully install on
the my version 4.3.3.75 / 4330-09?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Mark

Hi All.

We have a samba server at our location. We are facing out with some
issue. User who have the account on the server are able to access /
root access.

I have tried to add an extra line In Home sharing, which is path = %H,
this lined solved my issue, but gave other issue. After implementing
this line under Home share, I am not able to open any other user's home
directory which is shared to me or have access to open. If I try to
access other user home, it simply open my own home directory, even the
directory which I am not author... , I endup opening my own home
directory instead of getting error.

Can any one out some light in this issue, how can I configure My samba,
where I can access other's shared home directory and stop other user to
access / partition.

[Samba] What version of Samba will work with an AIX version of Unix?

2007-05-01 Thread Mark Blake-Smith
Hi all

We are currently looking to implement a scenario where our AIX Unix
Server and Windows Server can communicate with each other using a
version of Samba.

We currently scan images which are stored on our Unix system and ideally
we would like our Windows Server to have access to these files. The
software we use for our daily business is Unix based so the the scanned
images have to be primarily stored on the AIX Unix server. I understand
that you need a specific version of Samba to run on an AIX based version
of Unix and was wondering if someone feeling helpful could point me in
the right direction.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Mark
