hi, i tried files on my samba server just this afternoon because my novell netware server bug down. As i copied the said files for some time, an error occured that says i cannot continue copying files. [Samba] error while compressing files (using pkzip25) on sambaserver

[Samba] different subnets to use one samba server/integrating sambawith any antivirus
good day, our lan consist of two private IPs: 1. 10.xxx.xxx.xxx 2. 172.16.0.xxx i subnetted our lan so that i can easily deny a group of IPs in using internet (i also have a proxy server to cater internet browsing). For example subnet1 - 10.0.0.64/26 subnet2 - 10.0.0.128/26 subnet3 - 10.0.0.192/26 subnet4 - 10.0.1.0/26 . . i already have a samba configured having 2 NICs which has the following addresses: 1. eth0 - 172.16.0.2 2. eth0 - 10.0.0.2 how can i configure it (samba server) to connect computer in subnet2? is there a way to integrate antivirus with samba? im very particular with this because i have very bad experience server w/o antivirus. [Samba] cant open access database while being used by anotheruser/antivirus
hi, why is it i cannot open a ms access database (residing in my samba server) while being used/open by another user? is there an implementation of antivirus in a samba server? [Samba] having a hard time diagnosting my samba server
guys, my workstation cannot see my domain samba server "TSAR" on the network. also when i tried my win98 to log into the said domain, it would echo: "No domain server was available to validate your password." i tried using the DIAGNOSIS.txt to find out what's wrong. i stop at test # 8, when i issue "net view \\QCTSAR", it would echo: "The computer name specified in the network path cannot be located." it suggests to: 1. fixup the nmbd installation. i installed the samba package (samba-2.2.8a-1) via RPM, how can i fix it up and what to fix? 2. add the IP address of QCTSAR to the wins server box. i didnt configure a wins server. 3. enable windows name resolution via DNS in the advance section of the tcp/ip setup already enabled, still no success. 4. add QCTSAR to your lmhosts file on the PC how to do this? notes: im using a red hat 7.3 server. please do help me, im in a brink to loose my job!!! eric __ Do you Yahoo!? [Samba] logs says that my samba server is domain master browser butnmblookup is contradictory.
hi, my logs (log.nmbd) say that my samba server (QCTSAR) is the domain master browser for workgroup TSAR (workgroup entry on smb.conf) but when i tried issuing the command: # nmblook -M TSAR it would echo an IP Address of another workstation, why is this happening? eric __ Do you Yahoo!? im trying to build another samba server. after
running ./configure (with parameters), i check the
config.log file and found this:
