[Samba] net setlocalsid for doimain doesn't work as wanted
Hello, my problem is very strange. my old system diplays the following: net getlocalsid SID for domain RECHNER is: S-1-5-21-3464519980-904022163-2257070510 and net getlocalsid DOMÄNE SID for domain DOMÄNE is: S-1-5-21-3464519980-904022163-2257070510 my new system should be similar to the old one and displays this: net getlocalsid SID for domain RECHNER2 is: S-1-5-21-3464519980-904022163-2257070510 and net getlocalsid DOMÄNE SID for domain DOMÄNE is: S-1-5-21-2174182338-2397528515-139407038 I tried to set the SID for the domain via net setlocalsid but it only changes the local machine SID not the domain SID. How can I change the SID for the domain? What do I have to do? [Samba] SID trouble
Hi Folks, I changed the local SID from our new samba server to the SID from our old one with net setlocalsid. When I ask for the localsid via net getlocalsid I get the korrekt one back. But when I convert or create a new samba group the corespondig SID is totally different to the SID I get back from net getlocalsid. Who kowns why, or how can I change the GroupSIDs. Where can I find some information about the mysterious SIDs. [Samba] Client Profile mistake
Hello, after our harwarechrash we had to change the serversystem to another hardware. I copied all necessary samba files (I hope I did) to the new hardware and restarted Samba. Now when I try to log on the domain the client ist no longer trusted by the domain. When I add the client to the domain to solve these problem, I get an new profile after login. And this is my problem. All our client-users are mobile user, they all have local profiles. And the need ther profiles back. They don't accept new profiles. So what do I have to do to use our old profiles. [Samba] Using Lotus Domino LDAP as Samba Backend

[Samba] Porting PDC 3.0.4 to 3.0.11 on different Hardware
I'm trying to port our Samba PDC running Version 3.0.4 to a new Hardware. I installed the new System with Samba Version 3.0.11. I named the new server (majestix) different to our old one (tuxix), but let the Domain Name unchanged (KLEINTUXINGEN). Is it possible to copy the installation from the old to the new system? What do I havte to change and how? Who can give me advise here? I dont want to do any changes to the clients !!!
