Re: [Samba] Force the user to change its password

2003-01-14 Thread Pascal Schelcher
I know that it's possible when using Samba with LDAP.
In the LDAP Schema, there is an attribut "pwdMustChange" that's force an
user to change its password.
This attribut take 2 values :
- 0 : user must change its password
- 2147483647 : don't change

I successfully set up a PDC using samba 2.2. It really works perfect!

I'd like to force all users to change their paswords on their first login. Is
that possible? (On a M$ PDC this would be a special flag wich u have to
activate)

I don't understand what you say...
Those 8.3 paths are "calculated" by the Samba server ? So the client is independent of
this process... Am I mistaken ?

[Samba] Mangled Names of Long File Name with 2.2.4

2002-05-23 Thread Pascal Schelcher

Hello,

I have got samba-2.2.4 installed.
The Documentation of Samba says that the probability of a clash of mangled
names is 1/1300. But here is an output of a dir command on DOS :

AGEFI#230402#012#01.TXT" have same mangled name : "LAGEF~K6.TXT".

So what can I do to solve problem ?

Thanks.

Thanks for your answer.

My "ldap suffix" parameter has value : "ou=Company,c=Fr"
Where can I specify the LDAP server to use ?

[Samba] LDAP parameters

2002-04-26 Thread Pascal Schelcher

Hello,

I have the current CVS files.
My last version was 2.2.3a.
I use the "ldap server" parameter, and in the current CVS version, this
parameters is deleted.
So is there a documentation to configure samba with LDAP with the current
CVS version ? Or what is the syntax of those parameters :
- ldap suffix
- ldap machine suffix
- ldap user suffix
- ldap filter
- ldap ssl
Are some others LDAP parameters ?

Thanks.
Pascal Schelcher.

[Samba] XCOPY with /d

2002-04-08 Thread Pascal Schelcher

Hello,

I use command "xcopy" with "/d" to make backup's differential copies from
Windows NT to Samba 2.2.3a.
I have some troubles : with some files, "xcopy" don't care about the
argument "/d" (eg. if dates of the source file and the destination file are
the same : the file is copied !!). And with others : "xcopy" runs
correctly...

Is there somebody knows the problem ?

Thanks in advance.
