[Samba] access denied message not the login prompt
hi all, i have a samba server setup in workgroup(i.e standalone).running perfectly only that when a certain user is not allowed access to a share he gets a login prompt not the access denied message.can this be fix i mean the other way around in which samba should display the access denied message not the login prompt. i am running samba 3.0.23d mandriva 2007 box. hi smbusers, would like to ask some questions about posix acls and reiserfs.help and info is much appreciated.(to make it clear i am running mandriva 2007 free edition with samba 3.0.23d installed.) 1. is acl supported now on reiserfs filesystems by default? 2. do i have to recompile the kernel and apply the acl patch? (i currently have the 2.6.17 kernel) 3.which is best for samba?xfs?ext3? or reiserfs? Get your preferred Email name! [Samba] samba share setup witn nt acl permissions
Hi all, I am trying to setup a file server using nt acl -like permissioning(like the ones with windows server 2003) but dunno where to start. I am switching to Samba because of speed,less maintenance and most of all FREE! Can anyone post me the step by step solution(guide) or point me in the right direction specifically on installing samba with nt-acl like permissioning? Thanks.
