[Samba] Access Samba share very slow
Hai all, need help please, I have samba server with version samba-3.2.6-1, authenticate to samba PDC. I have spent 1 week to find the problem, all users which access to samba server move very..very slow, i have try to change SO_RCVBUF from 8192 to 4096 but there's no effect at all, so i turned it back to 8192, try to edit smb.conf for loging to just rename,unlink,rmdir,pwrite and open. but there's no effect too. [Samba] samba domain
Need help!!! I have samba domain controller with samba-3.5.4-4.1.i586 and openldap2-2.4.21-9.1.i586, when trial everything OK, client xp, win7, and vista can login, join domain, and access other server using auth to ldap, but now without any changes my client failed to join domain(xp and win7) and cannot change password via Ctrl+Alt+Del(message=the system cannot change your password now because the domain is not available ), but i still can access other server(need auth from ldap). anybody can help please??? [Samba] Win ME couln't login
I have made samba PDC and tested with client win 7, win xp, and win vista successfully but fail with win millenium edition, the message shows that the password is incorect or access to the server has been denied. [Samba] PDC Migration
Hi all, I need help, This time i want to migrate samba PDC(backend ldap) to new machine, new machine used different samba version but file configuration is the same, i have made new samba pdc succesfully, but i failed to migrate all account from old machine to new machine, i have done this step to migrate acc(users and workstation) : - copy folder /var/lib/ldap - import use command slapadd -c -l slapcat.ldif - import use command ldapadd -x -D cn=Manager,dc=domain,dc=com -W -f /home/my.ldif but it still fail, cause when i use command getent passwd it shows nothing. Like how long does it take to copy a single large file? When the problems happen my solution is restart my samba, but of course break the connection to client(general input/output error). Windows reestablishes connections automatically. It should recover from the restart with no problems. Unless the windows application actually attempts IO while Samba is unavailable, it should not even notice that it was temporarily down. -RW I'm using OO version 3.0.0, but other client use different version maybe version 2, and some client use MS Excel 2003 and have the same problem. There's no problem to browse file on samba file server. When copying file in a large size (about 1GB) i think there's no problem. Is there any clue with this problem? [Samba] Windows7 Join PDC
Hello all,,, I'm a newbie in linux I have a problem to join windows7 to PDC, i'm using Open Suse 10.0 as PDC and using samba version 3.0.20... From article that i've read, that i must upgrade samba minimum to version 3.3.4, there a few thing that i want to ask : 1. I've download the latest samba from www.samba.org, then try to compile using tools(checkinstall) to become rpm package but when i install the package i think it didn't work out because there is some file lost, like smb and nmb(on /etc/init.d/) and smbd not installed, can you tell me how to compile samba source to rpm package 2. How is the good way to update samba, rpm -Uvh or i've to delete installed package first then install the new one (rpm -ivh), can you help me step by step to update samba 3. I've tried to repackage an installed package, but when i want to rollback, it failed, system said that the signature NOT OK.. 4. Is that right that i've to update my samba, or there's another way to solved my problem Ok maybe that's too much and sorry for that, but i really need your help... Hey all, I have a case that when 2 client open the same file from file server, the first client open it correctly, and the second client when open it there is not show warning that file in use. Is there any way to set when the second client or next client open the file, the file should be read only so just the first client which can modify the file. Hello everybody... I need help about logon script, this time i want to change time format from 12 format to 24 format on pc client. I'm using samba 3.0.20 on PDC and the client is mostly win xp but we have pc with os win ME too. I change from logon.exe that i put on every user directory which has script like this REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International] iTime=1 sTimeFormat=HH:mm:ss But when i try to login the time format doesn't change it still in 12 format, i've tried many times but still the same. Is there any clue...
