as with samba4 you do not need a wins server at all.
Just use the dns of the samba4. Point your xp and win 7 clients to that
samba4 dns:

I played around with using WPKG to add policy stuff to the client 
registries. We were already using it to install software, so it was easy 
enough to fiddle with for me.

It's probably not the tidiest option, but it works.
