If you have ACL support enabled on you Samba server make sure your backup solution supports backing up meta-data and extended attributes. 99 of out 100 do NOT. Our solution (even after looking at commercial packages) has been to use XFS filesystems and xfsdump/xfsrestore. > I have read good things about Arkeia (www.arkeia.com). It took a while to understand how to set it up, however. I have read good things about Arkeia (www.arkeia.com). They have a light version that is free. One of our clients uses Tapeware by Yosemite Technologies (www.tapeware.com). It is good enough for Dell and Seagate to bundle it with their products. You can use the evaluation copy for 30 days. As usual, you need to test, test, test before using them in production environments. Hope this helps. -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
