If you make that fixed width font, and add a leading space to take up the leading bracket, your U matches to the user flag. Gotta love the ascii art when it gets hacked by client programs and listservs, etc.. Here's a more concrete example that I'm pretty sure won't get screwed up.. if it does, I give up.
