[Samba] Samba-HOWTO-Collection : SID for administrator

2005-02-08 Thread spu

Hi,

I see in Samba-HOWTO-Collection on the samba web-site that the sambaSID
must be set to

S-1-5-21---xxx-500, but actuelly, my SambaSID for my administrator
is from uid *2 +1000
For correct usage of administrator account, do I have to change my sambaSID
?

thank you

After reading smb.conf the option passdb backend = guest looks wrong?
guest isnt listed as a possibility in the manpage.
Ive changed nothing in my passwd/smbpasswd file.
Why is it not working?

Regards
Julius

The docs are generated daily whether or not the repository
has changed. You best bet is to check the svn log for the
samba-docs subversion repository on svn.samba.org.

[Samba] Samba-Howto-Collection Question on page 373

2004-04-02 Thread Brian Shea (Qortek)
My question is aimed at the configuration of roaming profiles and storing
them on the network for faster access.

On Page 373 referring to table 24.3 the following paragraphs talk about the
default Registry key, then notes that if you change the key to
\\%LOGONSERVER%\\%USERNAME%\Default Folders this will store all the default
folders on the server in there home directory. (NOTE: that each user has a
correct home directory shared as \\DOMAIN\\USERNAME\)

My question is, do I only change the default parameter to move all the
directories, or do I have to change all the keys in that portion of the
Registry hive?
