[Samba] SAMBA on AIX --> nsswitch.conf?
Hi I am still trying to run SAMBA on AIX with "security = ads" and I have a few questions: - on AIX is no such file as /etc/nsswitch.conf --> Do I have to add the configuration somewhere else? - I allways get this "User xy is invalid on this system" if try to map a share from Windows. What does this mean? Is the user invalid on the Domain? on AIX? on SAMBA? Is the User known by SAMBA but has no access rights on this share? - Has "security = ads" on AIX ever been tested? Any help would be appreciated!!! cheers -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
RE: [Samba] SAMBA on AIX 5.1
Best guess is it was compiled with a 64 bit kernel and the machine you have installed it on is set for a 32 bit kernel. Re: [Samba] Samba on AIX
How did you download it, to have the filename come out that way? I seem to recall some situations in which a .tar.gz will come out named .tar.tar but I can't remember which. My memory wants to say that downloading via Internet Explorer will do this, but I could be wrong. The download is normally a gzipped tar file, named something like samba-3.0.11.tar.gz You need to uncompress it first, or do it all at once: gunzip -c samba-3.0.11.tar.gz | tar xfv - -- Tim Evans, TKEvans.com, Inc.|5 Chestnut Court [EMAIL PROTECTED] |Owings Mills, MD 21117 http://www.tkevans.com/ |443-394-3864 http://www.come-here.com/News/ | -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba

To Whom it may concern: I am new to the samba world. I need to get samba running on AIX 4.3. Is there a different download than the one that is on the site or are they all the same. I downloaded samba-3.11.tar.tar. When I try and untar it on the system, it gives me an error. Any help from you would be appreciated. Hi guys, I've a strange thing on using Samba on AIX 5.1 (version from the IBM toolbox). Samba is working quite well.
