[sane-devel] SANE OS X 10.3 Install Problems

Well, I can't help because I don't have any MacOS X experience but
maybe one of the OS X hackers can. So I quote everything and send it
to sane-devel. Please reply to sane-devel, not to me personally.

[sane-devel] Supported hand held scanners

Well, the backend may work with other hand scanners. It uses the lhii
interface so if you have a driver for the scanner prividing such an
interface it may work. It once worked for the CG-6000 so that's the
one that's listed. The source code re-appeared only recently and was
not available on the WWW for years so testers are welcome.

Bye,
  Henning

Thanks for your answer. I know that page. However, I think SANE supports
only Mustek CG-6000 and it is in untested category. Am I wrong?

Thanks in advance...

Hello,

We have to use a hhs for our senior project in the university. And,
our department will buy a hhs for the project according to our
suggestions. Although I look for a supported hhs, I have not found
yet. I wonder
SANE supports a hhs. Which one(s)?

Thanks...

[sane-devel] SANE Training

I don't think that there is any sort of official or professional
training program. There are not that many people who program SANE
drivers so that would be a bit excessive :-)

There is some documentation on our website and I'm sure you get
answers about developing SANE drivers if you ask here. Most of the
work is not the programming itsself but gathering and interpreting
information.

Maybe one of the developers is also available for paid support. I
(persoannally) don't have enough time for that kind of support.

Maybe we can give better answers if you tell us what kind of
"training" you are interested in?

Bye,
  Henning

[sane-devel] Re: SANE Training

2003-11-18 Thread Miranda Ronald
Hi!

Let me just say the training is for those who have
ZERO knowledge about scanner development in Linux and
need to delivery a scanner driver (these people are
experienced Linux programmers, but not in SANE).

The timeframe of the training is still subject to the
availability of the trainer. If everything will turn
out fine, then training will push through as early as
jan 2004.

thanks,
Ronald

[sane-devel] mustek_pp now with CIS and CCD support... but first after SANE 1.0.13

2003-11-18 Thread Jochen Eisinger
This is an OpenPGP/MIME signed message (RFC 2440 and 3156)
--enig7E5A96C3DA3448ADC508E109
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Hi,

I've finally ported the CCD part to the new mustek_pp backend... sorry
for the long delay.

I tested it here, works for me. It's available as a patch to SANE
1.0.13. Due to the code freeze, I cannot submit it at the moment, so it
will be available from 1.0.13.CVS on.

A patch against SANE 1.0.13 is available from
http://penguin-breeder.org/sane/mustek_pp/download/ (I'll update the
docs tommorow)

This patch also includes support for auto probing the port for both CCD
& CIS scanners.

Please test and report (if any) the bugs :)

Missing (ccd) parport scanners are now 600 dpi ones, those with ASIC
1505 and A3EP... (but they weren't supported by the old mustek_pp_ccd
code either)

best regards
