The DSmobile 600 does NOT work with Linux, I know, I have one. They still advertise Linux compatibility but the old driver does not work with the new scanner (and they don't make it available anyway). I got it to work from an emulated Windows (or a Mac). Thierry

Good to hear. The Neat Receipts ID's as a OpticSlim M12, so Stefan can tap me for testing it out. I picked up a NeatReceipts scanner myself, which looks like it just needs some calibration there. [sane-devel] Fw: Re: Portable Scanners
I recently donated a Plustek OpticSlim M12 to developer Stefan Voltz. He is going to add calibration to this scanner. Once that is complete, it should be easy to add calibration support for the other gt68xx document scanners including the Neat Receipts Scannalizer, the Genius Colorpage SF600 and the Iriscan Express 2. [sane-devel] bug in unsupported/canon-4400.html
The checks for genesys chips have been updated recently in our git development version. You did not say which version of sane you used, so there is the possibility your report is still not acurate :( allan On Sat, Sep 5, 2009 at 6:42 PM, GARY SWEARINGEN wrote: > > The page unsupported/canon-4400.html says the scanner uses chip=GL841, > but more recent software reports it as GL843: > > > > found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x2228 [CanoScan], > chip=GL843) at libusb:001:002 > > > The bug reporting system gave some problem with security certificates that I > didn't want to worry about, so I'm sending it this way. > > -- > sane-devel mailing list: sane-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org > http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/sane-devel > Unsubscribe: Send mail with subject "unsubscribe your_password" > ? ? ? ? ? ? to sane-devel-request at lists.alioth.debian.org > -- "The truth is an offense, but not a sin"
[sane-devel] Portable Scanners
Dear All, I consider buying a portable scanner, such as the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 or Pentax DSmobile 600. I would mainly use it for scanning documents (text). Would appreciate feedback from users how well these and other portable scanners perform under SANE, as well as any other helpful tips you may have in choosing and using a portable scanner. Cheers and thanks, Mike. -- next part -- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/attachments/20090906/f468cc03/attachment.htm>
