[sane-devel] Scanner added to udev.rules

2010-12-04 Thread Robin Holtet
Hi,

The entry for my HP LaserJet 3030 fax/scanner/copier/printer was missing
from the udev rules (Ubuntu 10.04).

# Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 3030
ATTRS{idVendor}==03f0, ATTRS{idProduct}==1817,
ENV{libsane_matched}=yes

Regards,
Robin

[sane-devel] Canon CanoScan 9000F (similar to 8800F) supported by sane?

2010-12-04 Thread Kemal Posedi
I decided to use free operating system linux Ubuntu 10.10 (instead of commercial
ones) for now and I would like to scan with Canon CanoScan 9000F and I would
like you to send me drivers if you have it, please? Thank you.
Sincerely yours, Kemal Posedi.

Kemal, give please a feedback, when you tried it. AFAIK a scanner is a
little bite more difficult to install with Ubuntu than with Opensuse.

[sane-devel] Bug#597922: Additional Scanner Logs

For some reason the device is saying that it received a cancel request
(did someone push a cancel button on the device?). Protocol-wise, the
backend is supposed to send a CAN in that case before anything else.

No cancel request was made, either by pushing a button on the device or by
clicking cancel in the scan application.

I'm attaching three other logs that may be helpful to you.

scangui.txt
This is a log using KDE's Image Scanning Application (scangui) with
libsane_1.0.21-7. This scan fails, similar to the one with GIMP whose log was
attached to a previous email. However, when failing there is no err dialog as
there was with GIMP and the scanner locks up so that no other scanning can
even start until the scanner is power cycled. (GIMP did not lock up the
scanner.)

scangui libsane_1.0.20-14+b1.txt
This is the log from using scangui with libsane_1.0.20-14+b1. This scans
successfully. I've truncated the file because there was another 15 MB
repeating the final scanning pattern.

gimp libsane_1.0.20-14+b1.txt
This is the log from using gimp with libsane_1.0.20-14+b1. This scans
successfully. I've truncated the file because there was another 15 MB
repeating the final scanning pattern.

Let me know if there is any other debugging output that would be helpful to
you.
