General Job Description for DBA/UNIX Admin
Duties
�UNIX-based application troubleshooting and support
�UNIX-based database troubleshooting and support
�In-Depth knowledge of the Solaris operating system including applying
patches, managing file systems, monitoring performance and troubleshooting
issues
�Installing and managing Oracle database software in a UNIX environment
�System failure analysis and recovery
�Hardware/Software configuration management
�Technical support and general troubleshooting
�Day-to-Day Oracle database management, maintenance, and monitoring
�Creating, managing, and executing SQL scripts on Oracle databases
�System backup and restore Technical Skills
�In-depth knowledge of Sun Solaris 10 OS and higher
�Working knowledge of enterprise storage technologies, functions, and
capabilities
�3 years professional systems experience in a Unix Datacenter environment
�Shell Scripting programming experience
�Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and networking experience
�Strong troubleshooting skills
�Experience managing Oracle Databases on Solaris
�Day-to-Day Database management and maintenance
�Oracle Database monitoring tools
�Oracle Database performance tuning
�Oracle Database clustering, failover, backup and recovery
�Skills in Oracle 10g and Optimizer Preferred Skills
�Knowledge of Oracle 10g and Higher, RMAN, Veritas (Symantec) Clustering
Software, Veritas NetBackup
�Sun Solaris 10 and higher
�Enterprise SAN technology knowledge and experience
�Knowledge/experience supporting systems in a regulated environment
�Good documentation skills �Excellent customer
