Position: Embedded developer (motor controls experience)

 

Location: Minnesota

 

Duration: 6 month project

 

Notes:  Client will  prefer any consultant that has Sensor, motor

control, and/or  digital pulse oximeter experience.  (any oximeter

experience is highly considered) 

 

Job Summary:

Working as part of Small Devices group within Product Development, this

Software Engineer will have a direct impact on continuing the success of

our market-leading fingertip pulse oximeters. As a key member of the

development team, this engineer will design and implement effective and

innovative firmware for new products and major enhancements to existing

products. 

 

Job Description: 

Design and develop software for microcontroller-based medical products.

 

As technical leader, drive project initiatives collaborating with the

rest of the design team ensuring that and that development milestones

and deadlines are met. 

Define and implement high performance software by leveraging a strong

understanding of embedded hardware design. 

Define the system from the top down by developing software that

implements features of the system after the system is defined. 

Evolve state-of-the-art techniques for developing and documenting

software to work within our development environment. 

Drive the progression to a collaborative, knowledge-based product

development team environment. 

Be a leader and contributor in developing an environment of continuous

improvement across product lines and development groups. 

Analyze and provide feedback on peer designs in an open and

collaborative design review forum. 

Leverage their technical expertise to strengthen the activities of

cross-functional teams. 

 

Qualifications: 

 

Minimum 

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,

Computer Science or other relevant discipline and 3+ years of design

engineering or test engineering 

 

Required Skills:  

Experience with assembly level and C language development including the

tools used to edit, compile/assemble and debug code 

Experience with real-time signal processing, hardware I/O control, and

various communications protocols 

Demonstrated project management abilities 

Ability to work both individually and as part of a team 

Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of

the organization 

Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple

projects involving a variety of resources with defined

deadlines/schedules 

Strong attention to detail and high level of initiative 

Preferred: 

Experience with analog and digital hardware 

Background in development of microprocessor controlled hardware 

Development experience in an embedded environment for medical devices 

Working experience with Medical Devices Directive (MDD), ISO 13485, FDA

design controls or in similar regulatory environment
