*Location: Kent, WA*

*Duration: 4 Months*

*Rate: $55/hr on C2C*



Below is the thread with details on skills requirement and type of work the
resource will be engaged in.The candidates should be stronger in admin than
in development. Ideally, we want someone who can do both admin and
development. But below skills are required. In the initial stage, admin
will be 60% and development will be 40%.Please let me know if you have any
questions.



· Experience administering Tableau server in an large, multi-site
environment, with a particular emphasis on upgrades, server sizing, and
performance maximization

· Comfort writing scripts to leverage tabcmd and tabadmin features
(Python or Powershell for example) Demonstrable knowledge of advanced
Tableau features (parameters, calculated fields, dashboard development,
data blending)

· Familiarity with TabJolt and performance testing Tableau server a
plus Here are a few tasks that need to be completed.



*Admin work:  *

· Upgrade production environment to
9.X

· Test workbook/server functionality on
QA

· Engage business in upgrade
process/plan

· Execute upgrade

· Test functionality and assure no need to
rollback

· Monitor server performance
post-upgrade

· Evaluate current project hierarchy including permissions
structure, sandbox strategy, site strategy and make recommendations to
support team, implement approved changes

· Evaluate current data source and .tde strategy and make
recommendations

· Leverage Tabjolt to test and recommend our ideal server config
(how many vizql, data engines, backgrounders etc. are required for best
performance?)

· Write, test and implement script for batch .png
creation

· Write, test and implement script for cache warming

· Test new version of iPad app when released and evaluate whether
it fits REI’s retail release strategy

· Handle all project permissions requests, act as tier one for
support inbox

· Build custom postgres db views of server usage based on input
from support team

· Load test server periodically with Tabjolt as well as upon
request from business

· Keep dev box up to speed with all beta releases



*Dev work:   *

· Begin tackling backlog of work (gift card dash, retail dash
spokes)

· Act as tier one support for questions from business

· Own monthly beginner’s training courses (content to be developed
with team)

· Begin to flesh out and build company wide .tds/.tde files for use
across LOBs

· Store map

· Customer pathing (entry/exit points, cohort analysis, etc.)
