Job: Data Analyst Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6+ Months Contract Data analyst cum discoverer position who has *experience in developing reports using MS Access, Crystal reports and Cognos*. *Skill Sets :* 1. MS Access 2003 or 2007 - Required 2. BO Webi or Crystal Reports - Required 3. Solid knowledge of MS Word and Excel 4. High command of English language and very good communication skills - Required 5. Understanding of marketing and business analytical concepts - Required 6. Previous analytical experience in working large amounts customer and sales data - Required 7. Ability to gather and document business requirements and technical specifications 8. Ability to perform UT as needed and work with internal customers on UAT as necessary 9. Cognos 8.3 Exp or Discoverer 9i Exp - Preferred 10. Oracle or SQL Server Exp - Preferred 11. Visio - Preferred 12. Take ownership and work well independently *They must be prepared to demonstrate the following:* 1. Writing skills - Show example of business or technical requirements documents they have created 2. Understanding of general marketing or analytical concepts, e.g., KPIs, Retention, Market Share 3. Create stand-alone MS Access database to support adhoc reporting needs 4. Import/Extract data from MS Access into various file formats 5. Create tables, join relationships and keying in MS Access 6. Create Queries and Macros in MS Access using SQL (NO Visual Basic programming or full application development needed) 7. Develop and run adhoc report in MS Access 8.
