EDI LEAD DEVELOPER
Description:

The Data Integration Lead Developer will be responsible for designing and
developing the Enterprise Data Interchange (EDI) applications for Claims and
Clinical data. The individual would also manage the testing and deployment
of the application at various Colaborative Care operating entities.

Minimum of Five Years (5) experience as a EDI Lead
Must have experience on the following:
• 5+ years developing of complex, high-performance enterprise software for
Claims X12 transactions, Clinical HL7 Messages
• Atleast 3 year experience in any of the following products WebSphere
Message Broker, WebSphere Transformation Extender, Ensemble, Tibco, or
MQSeries.
• 3+ years in Service Oriented Application (SOA) based integration solutions

• Experience with HIPAA rules and standards as well as HL7 and EDI X12
communication standards
• Substantial experience with Web services Standards (e.g. WSDL, UDDI, SOAP,
WSFL, REST, etc.)
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, DB2, Oracle)
• Experience with healthcare data, messages like 835, 837 etc is needed.
Experience with Health Information Exchange (HIE) integration and Electronic
Medical Records (EMR) integration like Epic, eClinicalWorks, AllScripts is a
plus
• Experience with complex SQL (e.g. stored procedures, triggers, etc.) is a
plus
• Broad experience with contemporary Java technologies (e.g. JBoss, jBPM,
Quartz, etc.) is a Plus
• Extremely strong written, verbal and intrapersonal skills
• 2-3 years experience with Intersystems/Ensemble.

Responsibilities:

• Setting or enforcing EDI and ETL standards and architecture for enterprise
data warehouse and data marts
• Design the EAI application architecture based on the documented
requirements
• Ensure the availability and performance of the Data Integration audit
balancing layer. Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources are
allocated to the EAI Layer build with Ensemble and DB2/SQL Server databases
and ensure high resilience and performance.
• Communicates status of the team to the Director of Data Analytics and
Project Manager, including status, issues and other needs
• Manages day-to-day administration of the Ensemble platform task assignment
for the EDI and ETL development team.
• Reviews the work of team members in terms of technical quality and
completeness
• Validate that the business requirements are complete, consistent, concise,
and technically achievable.
• Responsible for collaborating with business architects, analysts and data
analysts to resolve gaps between the business requirements and EDI/ETL
design specifications and ensuring these decisions are documented.
• Produce high-level EDI/ETL design specifications that meet business
requirements within the scope of the pre-established or conceptualized
architecture.
• Produce detailed EDI/ ETL design specifications consistent with the
high-level EAI design specifications and Roadmap.
• Identify and communicate proactively and diligently design and scope
issues with the Lead Solution Architect
• Conduct EDI/ETL design reviews with client as needed
• Participate in data model and database design reviews.
• Guide EDI/ETL developers implementing the solution.
• Pursue a consensus-building approach around the ETL solution with the
internal and vendor developers.
• Creates other technical deliverable artifacts needed for project
implementation.
• Responsible for developing and mentoring project team both onsite and
remote. Need to manage the deployment and maintenance of the solution in
production
• Oversee QA functions for the EDI/ETL application, including ensuring that
system and integration test plans are developed and executed.
• Responsible for team effectiveness and maintains development task
schedule.
• Responsible for knowledge transfer and communication with the vendors,
team members
• Pro-actively manages technical inter-dependencies across other teams in
UnitedHealth Group
