Inperson Req after phone.



This position is less *DW and more DB development. They need a combination
of STRONG Oracle Database developer who can perform point no 2 and 3 below*.
and who comes from *Investment banking / particularly from Market Data
(Reference Data, securities, *consolidated identifier, etc). They would
rather want someone from* Essbase Hyperion background or mix of DW tools
expertize who can also *chip in their technology selection initiative.

1*. Data Warehouse experience:
*a. Building and analyzing domain models.
b. Domain Model Optimization.
2.* Database knowledge (Oracle):*
a. Writing procedures, functions, cube queries, materialized views,
analytical functions.
b. Query Tuning/Optimization.
3. *Scripting:*
a. Perl Scripting.
b. Shell Scripting.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: 1+ Year

Primary Skills: Oracle 8, 9 or 10, Informatica (ETL) Secondary Skills:

Summary:

Brief Description of Assignment:

The candidate will provide Oracle database and data warehouse support for
the Business Intelligence - Decision Support team.  The candidate will
assist the team's Information Architect in the design, development and
implementation of a new data warehouse. The candidate will also work with
other team members to support existing databases and will be responsible for
troubleshooting, problem solving, and performance tuning.



Personal Skills Required:

Candidate should be willing to work closely with internal customers. The
successful applicant will have both exceptional data analysis skills and
communication skills. The candidate will be working closely with the team's
Information Architect to determine the users' needs and provide the best
possible solution.  The individual should be highly motivated, have strong
organizational skills, initiative, and be able to handle multiple
priorities.

Technical Skills Required:

Practical hands-on experience in applying Oracle database and data
warehousing technologies to business problems, designing and implementing
database and data warehouse solutions.  Position demands solid Oracle 8, 9
or 10 development experience.  The candidate must have experience developing
ETL using Informatica's Power Center.

Additional Skills/Qualities not required but would be a plus:

A working knowledge of Cognos tools, UNIX, and Java would be a plus.
