Title: Peoplesoft DBA

Duration: March 14, 2011 – October 31, 2011

Max C2C Pay rate: $65/hr

Location: Sacramento, CA

1.   Ensure and Manage test, training, pre-production, production
database environment instances are identified, setup, and managed.

2.   Must work with database administration team on developing database
instances to support upgrade to PeopleSoft HCM 9.1

3.   Must follow ITSB technical standards and requirements.

4.   Must follow ITSB policies and procedures.

5.   Must thoroughly transition and train the identified ITSB staff who
will be maintaining this newly upgraded PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 solution.

6.   Must have strong interpersonal skills and follow Core Values

Database Administrator:

1.   Must be DBA subject matter expert with PeopleSoft Human Resources
version 8.9 and PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 and have upgrade experience.

2.   Must be DBA subject matter expert with PeopleSoft Time and Labor
module.

*Title: Peoplesoft DBA*

Location: Santa Clara

Duration:  6 months

Please try to find US Citizens/GC’s, but I will take H1’s due to the rate.

Req details:

The Sr. PeopleSoft DBA coordinates with the rest of the Applications
Services team, Infrastructure

Services, End User Services, and the functional support team.. The resource
is

expected to have at least 2-3 years experience with an infrastructure team
supporting a PeopleSoft 8

production environment. The City’s operating environment is a Sun
Solaris/Oracle database

platform.  The production environment includes PeopleSoft FS & HCM.

*Education:*

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related Information Systems and
three years’ experience.

Additional experience can be substituted for some of the education
requirement.

*Skills:*

Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

• Oracle version 9i database administration experience.

• PeopleSoft 8 application administration experience.

• Ability to read, write and manipulate SQL.

• Understanding of PeopleSoft Intranet Architecture.

• Experience with PeopleSoft change assistant for upgrades, patches &
bundles.

• Production support experience in a PeopleSoft 8 environment.

• Knowledge of UNIX, especially Sun Solaris.

• Experience with back up and restore scripting procedures and testing.

• Ability to implement COBOL, SQR, Application Engine and PeopleSoft
tracing.

• Working knowledge of network topologies and protocols, especially TCP/ IP.

• Support PeopleSoft HRMS v 8.x. with a focus on GL, PO, AP, Inventory, AR,
and

Billing, PeopleSoft HCM (HR, Payroll for North America)

• Knowledge of PeopleTools.

• Understanding of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture/PeopleSoft 8.

• Knowledge of PeopleSoft data management tools.

The ability to support (troubleshoot) other applications that
interface/integrate with

PS (Hyperion Planning, HdL Business License, CORE Onestep Cashiering.**

Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

• Knowledge of Weblogic and Tuxedo

*Technical Responsibilities:*

• Manage Oracle database in the development, test, and production
environments

• Ensure availability, integrity & performance of database

• Manage physical data structure of database including monitoring growth and
sizing the

databases table sizes, segments, temp space, etc

o Balance I/O/ Redistribution

o Manage distribution across disks

• Database Tuning

• Backup and recovery

*Technical **Responsibilities:*

• Provide PeopleSoft 8 development, test, and production environment
support.

• Provide PeopleSoft 8 production environment issues trouble-shooting.

• Document issues status and solutions.

• Log Oracle PeopleSoft Global Support (GSC) cases and follow up.

• Perform PeopleSoft migrations.

• Identify and reapply customizations.

• Create minor customizations such as reports, run controls and People Code

validations.

• Perform application upgrade comparisons and migrations.

• Perform change management control procedures.

• Set up and administer PeopleSoft security based on change control
requests.

• Other applications support as necessary.

• Participate in product upgrades and implementation of new software as
necessary

• Create new database instances including directory structures, COBOL
compilation, etc. and

document instances.

• Refresh and clone database environments as requested

• Develop, implement, perform, and manage database disaster recovery
procedures

• Manage database security

• Ensure the databases have the necessary fixes and apply them in a timely
manner.

• Produce and maintain documentation recording database layouts.

• Evaluate Oracle database and patches, database versions upgrade paths

• Be knowledgeable about database upgrade impacts to PeopleSoft applications

• Maintain application performance (e.g. indexes)

• Manage PeopleSoft application administration

o Maintain application availability including process schedulers and
PeopleSoft web

applications

o Integration with other applications

o Integration within PeopleSoft applications including integration broker
and workflow

o Apply upgrades, patches and fixes using PeopleSoft change assistant

o Migrate PeopleSoft objects, customizations and reports to UNIX and Windows

environments.

• Troubleshoot problems to determine issue and follow through on
coordinating solutions.

• Understand and follow change control procedures

*Customer Interface:*

• Provide timely status reports

• Maintain good communication with the rest of the infrastructure team and
the functional team

• Provide up-to-date information to clients in response to specific
inquiries.
