· Minimum 8 years of experience with COBOL, DB2, Command-Level
CICS, JCL, Batch and TSO/ISPF.

· Ability to understand business processes and to be customer
focused

· Team player who can work effectively in a team environment as a
member of an application development group

· Performs analysis, coding and testing of new systems

· Strong technical coding skills with a proven track record of
adherence to process

· Familiar with following the SDLC - Software Development Life Cycle

· Demonstrates an understanding of FIS systems and the financial
services industry (big plus)Ability to understand business processes and to
be customer focused.



*Desired:*



   - Technical education involving design or development of computer
   programs.

· Development experience with IBM Mainframe Assembly language, with
heavy use of the Concept 14 macros set add-on product

   - Serena ChangeMan ZMF source packaging/management tool experience

· Demonstrates an understanding of FIS systems and the financial
services industry

Job Title: COBOL Developer
Location: Albany NY
Duration:6 month contract

Responsibilities:

•Provide general system design, application programming, unit and
integration testing of developed programs and documentation of those
programs.
•Programming tasks may include complete unit routines or functional
routines that makeup discrete parts of functional units.
•Programming will utilize structured COBOL
•Candidate will develop application software; conduct data analysis,perform
data accesses, data structures,data manipulation, database accesses,design,
programming, testing and implementation,  develop technical and user
documentation, and perform software conversions.
•Candidate must be able to work without assistance and provide leadership
for others.

Experience Requirements:
•Minimum of 5 years experience working directly with COBOL 85 (UCOB)
programming on Unisys 2200 series.
•Minimum of 5 years experience utilizing Unisys ECL, TIP? DPS-2200 and DMS
2200/RDMS

Desired Skills:
•Unisys COBOL, DPS, MQSeries, SOPRT, GSM,Merge,XML,PL/SQL,IBM Process
Server, OPC, CSF, Crystal Reports, QMF, SPUFI, JAVA,PERL, LINUX, GTK, and
RPM.
•The best candidates will have COBOL development experience with the WMS.
•Experienceshouldincludemonitoringproductionworkincludingerrordiagnosis/debugging,
system analysis and design,program, unit and integrated testing.

Preferred Skills:

Unisys COBOL,DPS–FORMGN and runtime API,OPEN/DTM (T2200),MQ Series, PADS,
CIFS-2200,SORT, GSM, XML, PL/SQL.

of Transportation. The Documentation requirements are based on the existing
batch processes. These processes written in COBOL and NATURAL are not fully
documented. 

The candidate must be able to first quantify the effort involved in this
documentation effort. Then deliver a scope of work, work plan, and resource
requirement for doing the actual documentation. The ability to be able to
read and interpret in English the batch processes is a requirement of the
applicant
