Job Description:



A SOA Middleware Engineer is responsible for design, maintenance, and

support of multiple SOA systems and environments as well as solution

development in those environments. An individual in this role provides

support and troubleshooting for SOA systems, performs analysis for the

implementation of future products and/or upgrades, and provides

recommendations for improving performance of systems.  The individual in

this role also estimates projects, assists in preparation of project plans

or proposals, and works with a team to deliver solutions that meet business

requirements. A Middleware Engineer is highly knowledgeable on multiple

systems or technologies, provides technical leadership in those areas, and

works with little guidance.



Job Responsibilities:

Analyzes all relevant information and incorporates perceived long-term

implications when devising solutions.

Remains flexible to the ever-changing needs of the customers and the

industry.

Thoroughly documents the design, direction and additions to a program

making it easier for others to support and understand in the future.

Builds rapport and manages relationships to ensure a smooth operation.

Avoids making hasty decisions by weighing the risks and thinking

logically about complicated problems.

Consistently notices details others may miss; asks questions to

understand the details of a program or project.

Comes up to speed on a new project quickly and independently if needed.

Understands all knowledge areas of software development (as defined by

SWEBOK), including requirements, design, construction, testing,

maintenance, configuration management, quality, tools, and methods.

Establishes positive working relationships with technical project

members.

Works collaboratively with customers or end-users to help them reach

desired solutions.

Understands and integrates industry needs, software development life-

cycles, and technological solutions.

Continually searches for projects and initiatives in order to remain

Qualifications:

Education: B.S. Degree in computer science, information systems, or related

area, or equivalent work experience



Experience: At least 4-6 years software development experience in specific

area (e.g., Java/Web, , etc.); at least 4-6 years experience implementing

and supporting SOA infrastructures and systems; experience writing SQL

queries and accessing databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, etc.); experience

with source code control product (e.g., CVS, Subversion, SourceSafe, etc.);

experience with tuning performance of application code or data access;

experience with development methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, etc.) a plus



Competencies/Skills: Strong communication and problem solving skills

required. Ability to think analytically, make decisions, and continuously

improve and innovate. Candidates must also have functional and technical

expertise, have consistency and quality in their work, and work well in

teams.



Accomplishments:  (Degrees, Certifications, Languages):



CSDP or other certification a plus; M.S., Ph.D., or other advanced degree a

plus.



Physical Demands: Must be able to type proficiently.



Work Environment: Work under pressure with time constraints; regular change

in work tasks/duties; occasional work after business hours.

-   Experience with messaging technologies (JMS, Tibco EMS, Apache MQ).

-   Experience with ESB/SOA technologies (Tibco ESB/Active

Matrix/Business Works).

-   Experience with BPM and CEP products a plus.

-   Experience with SOA monitoring and governance technologies a plus

(Actional Enterprise).

-   Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Unix, DOS, Awk, regular

expressions, Jython, etc.) a plus.

My company has been giving a 1 week exclusive on this position. It is a 3
