JOB DESCRIPTION: The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for performing standard Oracle DBA tasks including database installation, starting/stopping databases, monitoring databases, performing diagnostics, applying patches and performing upgrades. The position also requires critical thinking and problem solving abilities to address complex issues involving data replication, as well as database performance tuning & optimization. The candidate must be able to support large enterprise database installations and help resolve architectural issues in the environment and database infrastructure, as well as develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the database architecture. Specific responsibilities include: ¿ Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime ¿ Perform diagnostics and manage error logs, escalating problems to Oracle and third parties, as appropriate for resolution ¿ Perform periodic database PSU/CPU patching ¿ Set up and manage Oracle 11g RAC using ASM, Oracle 12c OEM, DataGuard/Broker, Failsafe, Advanced Security Option (ASO) and RMAN. ¿ Write complex SQL statements and tune existing SQL statements for performance and scalability ¿ Develop stored procedures that process and modify existing data and create database jobs to execute ad-hoc PL/ SQL as well as procedures used to validate data, modify data, or gather table and index statistics at regular intervals. ¿ Analyze performance issues and providing recommendations to improve database performance ¿ Maintain database configurations in compliance with release management and change management best practices EDUCATION: Bachelor¿s Degree and 7+ years of experience. REQUIRED SKILLS: ¿ Proven Oracle 11G Database Administration experience (Oracle 11G certifications are preferred). ¿ Experience with Oracle RAC, Data guard, Advanced Security Option (ASO) and RMAN. ¿ Experience in managing multiple Oracle RDBMS on large systems. ¿ Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide a high availability service. ¿ Ability to perform all tasks described in the job description above The candidate must be able to work independently and as an effective team member. Candidate must be able to obtain a moderate risk Federal public trust clearance. The public trust clearance process authorizes the Federal government to perform background investigation for identifying negative criminal, medical, and financial findings.
