Conduct database analysis to troubleshoot inconsistencies and issues.
Prepare reports based on data modeling and patterns. Serve as a

support for offender management systems.

Demonstrated ability to draw on database management skills to support
business needs and end users including: database management system
tools & utilities on distributed platforms, Microsoft SQL programming
language, and SQL performance & optimization in a mirrored/replicated
setup. Experience working in the Microsoft database management
environment to include: ETL/SSIS, SSRS, and dimensional data modeling,

Job Title : SQL DBA
Location :  Richmond, VA
Duration : 12 Month Contract


Requires BS/BA degree in computer science or information systems; 8 or more
years of information systems experience including 5 or more years of
database administration experience; or any combination of education and
experience, which would provide an equivalent background. SKILLS: Expert
business, technical design and database administration knowledge required.
Demonstrates a mastery of cutting edge technologies to leverage when making
strategic decisions. Strategic thinking and ability to prioritize tasks to
meet the business needs required. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal
communication skills required.

This developer position will focus on SQL Server database development as it
relates to the HRS suite of databases. HRS is a 24/7 transaction system.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of SQL server
technology and development language platforms(SSIS and Stored Proc is
required). Prefered candidate will also have knowledge of the the database
administration and tuning.

*Required Skills:*
Large scale ETL (Extract, transform, load)  experience with SQL Server
REQUIRED
Experience emphasizing on SSIS, XML feeds, Performance tuning.
Four-year degree.
Proven Technical Management in an eCommerce or Trading environment.
Operating Systems: Windows 2003/2010
5 – 7 year experience of SQL Server 2005 database design and administration
within a high volume, transaction-oriented web environment
2 – 5 year Experience in SSIS
5 – 7 year Experience in SQL Server database clustering
5 – 7 year Experience in SQL data modeling and design
Expert knowledge Transact SQL (T SQL)
Good knowledge of relational databases (concepts and constructs)
Knowledge of distributed architecture and design
Thorough knowledge of data backup, recovery, and rollback
planning/implementation
Proficiency in SQL Server 2005 optimization, fine-tuning, and scalability
techniques
Thorough knowledge of data security issues
Strong knowledge of network architecture and topology
BS/BA in Computer Science (or related field), Advance Degree Preferred in
Computer Science (or related field).
MCDBA Preferred
Ability to plan, manage (proficiency, processes, and people), and problem
solve in fast passed demanding environment.
Ability to analyze information and provide management level reporting.
Ability to work in a team environment or independently with general
guidelines and minimal supervision.
Proven written and verbal communications skills.'
