This candidate should understand *UXD principals*, but the requirement is
for a *Front End Developer, Not a UX Designer.*



The UX team is seeking a passionate mid-to-senior level front-end UI
developer who wants to join a team of design thinkers focused on creating
digital solutions that help people.
The Creative Technologist role will lead efforts to explore technology
options, prototype innovative concepts and ensure alignment with IT
partners on front-end approach and standards (including WCAG accessibility
compliance). This individual should be a collaborative problem solver
willing to take on a leading role, have an appreciation for the
user-centred design process and be an expert in the latest front-end
development trends, tools, and methods.

*Detailed Description:*
In this role, you will:

Ø  Provide thought leadership for front-end development and architecture
and design enterprise front-end stack standards

Ø  Collaborate with UX designers, business/product management, IT teams and
company leaders to successfully move from early stage concepts to launch

Ø  Create and evangelize code standards and living UI component library for
internal use (including facilitating code reviews, documenting standards
and code examples and educating new developers)

Ø  Explore technology solutions to improve the visual presentation,
interaction and performance of digital assets for customers, associates and
business partners



*Basic Qualifications:*
Bachelor's degree
7-10 years of equivalent digital development experience in the front-end
space

*Preferred Qualifications:*
Technical Skills Required

*Accessibility*
Understanding of WCAG 2.0 and/or Section 508 guidelines

Familiarity with at least one screen reader technology is mandatory (e.g.
JAWS, NVDA or Voiceover)



*Mark-up*
Strong HTML 5 skills
Experience with client-side templating (compiling HTML code on the client
side)
Solid understanding of semantics (understanding tag types and how ADA tools
and browsers interpret them differently) (e.g. Handlebars)

*Script*
Experience with MVC (Modelled View Controller) or similar libraries (e.g.
Backbone, Ember, Angular)
General understanding of client-side vendor metrics libraries (e.g.
Omniture, Google Analytics, Core Metrics)

*Styles*
Experience with CSS pre-compilers (e.g. SASS, SCSS, LESS)

*Testing*
Experience with JavaScript unit testing (e.g. tools like Jasmine, Qunit)

*Additional qualifications:*

Ø  Familiarity with designing for multiple device types and strong
experience with responsive UIs

Ø  Experience with the following libraries is mandatory (Bootstrap or
Foundation or equivalent, JQuery)

Ø  Experience with preparation for build and packaging of all front-end
code (e.g. tools for client-side building... Gulp, Grunt)
Solid understanding of client-side performance techniques

Ø  Ability to document and communicate code standards (e.g. tools like JS
Doc, Docco)

Ø  Ability to educate new developers on established standards

Ø  Familiar with UX principles and methodologies (e.g. user research, flow
diagrams, low-fidelity prototypes)

Ø  Experience with mobile UIs, responsive web design and mobile first
approach

Ø  Ability to quickly create both low and high fidelity functional
prototypes for designing and

testing with users prior to development

Ø  Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Ø  Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision

Ø  Ability to develop working relationships with individuals at all levels
of an organization

Ø  Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
