- Java Client and server side development
- Eclipse RCP
- Experience working in pricing and trading.
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Understanding of multi-threaded programming
- Comfortable with Agile style development practices
- Solid understanding of programming fundamentals: algorithms,
data-structures
- End to end ownership - demonstrable record of owning a solution from
requirements analysis through deployment to initial support

This is

an end-to-end development role in a fast paced front-office environment.
Strong

*self starter who has a track record of delivering quality front office
trading applications.

The person will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of applications, from


design and development through to testing, deployment and operation. The

person must be comfortable communicating directly with a diverse group of

demanding stakeholders that include traders, business sponsors and

technology management, whilst working in a geographically distributed team.



*Some essential notes:*
Equity system, but more order management

High Frequency, Low latency

Good exposure to Equity trading systems in general

More GUI or client facing, open to either

Heavy server side programmer with very strong core java

Database experience (they use Sybase)

Core Java capabilities with equities is the main focus

All core Java on server side

No JSP used

Use Swing a lot

Good understanding of generics

They use RCP framework to build out front end

No RCP but strong swing will work for them

Should have basic understanding of Sybase

Should be seasoned with dealing with front office area (traders, real-time
aspect of system)

Someone who is well versed with understanding requirements, system needs

Also trading is not necessary

Should understand real time market data (Reuters, Bloomberg, Wombat, any
will work)

Understanding of FIX messaging

Understanding of front-office trading systems
