The position of SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) will be part of a
team whose objective and responsibility will be to support Global SQL
Server systems at Client and maintain the systems at optimal performance,
availability and efficiency. The DBA will primarily be responsible for
database administration to support day-to-day database operational
activities. Will use appropriate languages and tools to provide immediate
problem resolution and, if necessary, problem escalation. Individual will
be required to perform assigned tasks forwarded by application database
teams. This individual will not be responsible for application
development/design.
*Job responsibilities to include, but not limited to:*
· Manage database user security and permissions
· Performs monitoring and performance tuning; analysis of problems
· Assists in disaster recovery support
· Perform database backups and restores
· Manage and consult database and disk space on servers
· Incident/problem management
· Consulting and change request coordination
· Consult with system administrators regarding O/S - DBMS
requirements
· Stay current with new database technology developments and
techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend
improvements
· Willingness to participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7
operations of the environment
