The Replacement Medicaid Management Information System (RMMIS) project is
one of the largest IT projects for the State of South Carolina. It is a
multi-year effort to replace the State’s aging MMIS, eligibility system,

system. The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS)
is planning a multi-vendor approach, which will demand exceptionally high
quality team members.

*Daily Duties/Responsibilities:*

The RMMIS ORACLE Application DBA is responsible for managing all database
related technical aspects for the engineering and software development
life-cycle (SDLC) for a replacement MMIS database. The project is a
multi-year effort that will be one of the largest IT projects in the State.
The State plans to conduct a multi-vendor design and development effort.

Duties and Responsibilities include:


   - Installs and configures ORACLE database software, creates data models,
   develops naming conventions and DB change control procedures;
   - Install and configure ORACLE databases with both a traditional and RAC
   configuration on a RedHat/ORACLE Linux server
   - Manage ORACLE database architecture, interconnections, and schemas for
   the storage and retrieval of MMIS information in a high transaction rate,
   mission critical 24x7 environments.
   - Support database operations and work closely with application and
   infrastructure group for MMIS Replacement initiatives.
   - Assist Enterprise Architect with overall planning needs for the
   database design and data modeling;
   - Provide formal and/or information training in DBMS administration and
   maintenance, database design, analysis, and management.
   - Contribute to service design and support for a service oriented
   architecture (SOA)-based system



*Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):  *



   - Oracle database 11g and 12c
   - Demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform all basic database
   management and administration skills
   - Demonstrate practical understanding of ORACLE database physical
   structure, overall architecture, and database performance analysis

technology development projects undertaken by Clemson University on behalf
of the State of South Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services

application environment that requires modern technologies, technical
practices and substantial collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Application DBA is responsible for working closely with both the
project development team (scrum/sprint teams) and with the Clemson Oracle
Administrators to provide Senior Application DBA support for the
implementation of IBM's Curam Social Industry Platform. The Senior
Application DBA will manage be responsible for providing leadership in the
implementation of the Curam data model and preparing the solution for
operations.

Duties include:
* Day-to-day data model oversight.
* Developing a governance strategy to ensure consistent, sustainable, and
scalable data model changes, with a focus on retaining the ability to
easily update the Curam platform to future versions.
* Advising development and product teams on best approaches for required
data model extensions and/or changes.
* Hands-on Oracle development and application in ways that are consistent
with the Curam framework and Oracle best practices.
* Collaboration with Clemson's Oracle administration team to maintain test,

Direct Client Position

SCOPE:
Database installation, configuration, upgrade, patching (knowledge in
IBM/AIX platforms preferred)
Database administration
Extensive knowledge and experience to build and automate scripts in a UNIX
environment for streams on Oracle 11g at a table level and schema level.
Ability to setup, automate, document and troubleshoot the Streams
Replication at schema level and table level  to capture, propagate and
apply the DML, DDL changes to the replicated database.
Automate error checking, document and troubleshoot and resolve problems in
Oracle streams.
Use DATA PUMP/export import to instantiate SCN to avoid conflict at
destination.
Ability to clone databases.
Monitor and manage Production and Development databases and also monitor
instances locks, long running queries, listener, free space, extents growth
and space management etc.
Troubleshoot database issues/error.

Responsible for maintaining 24x7 database uptime.
Deploying and managing fault-tolerance and high-availability and DR
(Disaster Recovery) solutions including Oracle Streams and others.
Backup and recovery strategy and insure recoverability of Oracle databases.
Administering and enforcing database and user security policies and
standards including privacy regulations.
Develop, maintain and improve efficient database processes, accurate
documentation and best practices.
SQL and PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripting.
Importing and Exporting data using Data Pump, data replication, data
loading and extraction.
Scheduling jobs and Automating tasks.
Knowledge of Automatic Workload Repository (AWR), Automatic Database
Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM), Active Session History (ASH).
Proficiency with Tuning - SGA, Monitoring and Detecting Locks.
