*Description*
The Application Development and System Analyst will participate in
development of a new magnetic measurement system in support of testing
accelerator magnets. Major emphasis is placed on performing automatic
measurements, analyzing test results, organizing data and providing
convenient data access methods. Responsibilities include design,
implementation, debugging, and documentation of software and, specifically,
work on Intranet Web-based data retrieval and presentation systems as well
as work on modules and components of the measurement sub-systems.
The Analyst will develop and test software using Java, C/C++ and possibly
LabVIEW. Knowledge of the Linux and Windows environments is necessary.
Familiarity with DAQ systems is highly desirable. Experience in any or all
of the following is desired: Web-based applications, relational databases,
instrumentation, and embedded or real-time programming.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Software
Engineering and several years of software development experience, preferably
developing and debugging DAQ and application software

- Familiarity with DAQ systems in highly desirable

- Ability to work through challenges independently as well as to work

- Good to excellent communications skills are required, with a
willingness to make written and/or oral presentations
- Good software documentation skills are expected.
