JOB TITLE: Resident Videoconferencing Engineer LOCATION: London DURATION: 3 years of 1 year contract extendable COMPANY OVERVIEW Client, Video Business Unit is the leading unified collaboration services provider with an integrated services offering including Video Conferencing, Audio Conferencing, Web Conferencing, Streaming and Video Network Management Services and Equipment. Through web-based self-service solutions, experienced full-service call centers and diversified global networks, Client enables customers to conduct electronic meetings, events and training from anyplace at anytime. POSITION SUMMARY Client provides the excitement of working with cutting edge technology in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. The role of the Help Desk Engineer provides initial employee support for technical inquiries received via the telephone and/or email. Assesses nature of problem and resolves simple and basic support issues over the phone. For more complex issues, transfers internal customer to appropriate employee technical support specialist. This position will be located at Client and will accessing client applications and systems providing Tier I & II support. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (in order of priority) Responsible for delivering customer service as defined by maintenance programs delivered to customers. Perform network and/or equipment troubleshooting. Document any incidents encountered that are not satisfactory to the client. Open new cases. Provide 1st level troubleshooting support to maintenance and conferencing customers. Monitor; resolve; and/or escalate as appropriate issues that arise on all remote equipment monitoring (REM) application. Process and confirm validity of return merchandise authorizations (RMA) requests. Conduct system certification and Remote Equipment Monitoring (REM) system on boarding. Increase technical knowledge through classes offered. Perform up to second level problem determination. Interact in person, by phone, and/or e-mail directly with client management and end-users. Recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiency. Keeping abreast of current technology. Perform additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS : Education/Technical Educated to a high school level required. A college (university) degree is preferred, or the equivalent in experience. Vendor specific certifications on video conferencing systems a plus.10 years of support experience. 1-3 years experience in VC & AV operations. Extensive knowledge of technology maintenance. Working knowledge of integrated and non integrated VC systems. Experience and/or strong working knowledge of multiple videoconferencing platforms and engineering. Tanberg and English and German experience. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS : Non-Technical Ability to exceed expectations projecting a calm and professional demeanor even during stressful situations. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Self-directed, detail-oriented. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing). Accountable for client satisfaction; maintains/builds effective working relationships. Demonstrate flexibility (e.g., redeployment, off-hour setup requests, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Windows based platform (including Microsoft Word and Excel). Experience with Web-based applications. Foreign language skills a plus.
