Title: Software Engineer
Duration: 2+ months

Pay:  BEST POSSIBLE 
MUST BE LOCAL TO EAGAN,MN


PRIMARY OBJECTIVES 
Responsible for developing various solutions that support the Service
Management processes within TRP. 
To a lesser extent, configuring, integrating, managing and supporting the
TRP enterprise service management ticketing and workflow application and
associated technologies. Also provide consulting to users and groups to
improve tool functionality and organizational workflow. 

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 
Perform design and architectural activities to allow for development of the
most effective solution for a given situation. Includes creating drawings,
diagrams, project plans or other supporting documentation as needed to
communicate and assist in analysis and deployment. Also includes knowledge
of deployed and upcoming PIIRS supported technologies, initiating
communication, recommending design specifications and proposing
implementation plans. 
(40%) Troubleshoot and tune the application, databases and system monitors
as needed to overcome or prevent disruptions or improve performance.
Includes analyzing errors and system information (with other support groups
as needed), executing system utilities, developing and implementing
automation or performing configuration modifications for resolution. 
(15%) Manage small to mid-size projects. Includes determining project
requirements, financial analysis, establishing timelines, managing
individual and team cooperation, overcoming obstacles, communicating status
to stakeholders and delivering the final product. 
(10%) Consult with customers to define usage requirements and recommend
potential solutions or work arounds, in accordance with established PIIRS
Service Management principles and tool capabilities. 
(10%) Test, implement, configure and tune add-on products supported by the
group.
 (5%) Work with other Technical Services groups to assist in the design
and/or support of the application, its related databases, servers, storage,
system monitors and integration with supporting infrastructure.
 (5%) Research and recommend existing and new technologies and relevant best
practice implementations. This includes involvement with proof of concept
testing, supporting documentation, etc. 
(5%) Prepare and present analyses, reports, presentations or demonstrations
to various audiences for communication or promotional purposes. 
(5%) Perform application administrative functions to maintain user and group
access and security policies.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS 
- Serve as a project coordinator and/or lead for complex projects 
- Provide mentoring and training of less experienced staff 
- May provide input in the hiring process (interviews, screen resumes, etc.)


FINANCIAL RESONSIBILITY: 
Responsible for providing financial information, cost analysis and business
cases at a project level as requested.. 

Education Prefer 4 year (Bachelor's) Degree in a technology related field 
After hours support Must be able to provide after hours and weekend
application support and maintenance through a rotating pager among team
members 

Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated automation skills in current programming or workflow
technologies (ASP, Java script, C++, C#, SQL, etc.) 
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple platforms (Windows 2000/2003
server, databases, etc.) 
Ability to work in a fast paced challenging team environment Strong ability
to effectively recognize, research and analyze new technologies 
Ability to set and communicate deadlines Capacity to build and maintain
project plans Organized and creative critical thinking and problem solving
skills 
Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously and to adapt to
changing priorities
 Experience in modifying and supporting complex, high performance and highly
available systems
 Ability to determine project budgets, schedules, and resource requirements
 Knowledge of ServiceCenter software 
Knowledge of service management principles in an enterprise level
environment
 Excellent written and verbal communications with a strong customer service
focus 

Previous Experience 4+ years in Software Development Working experience in
the following platforms: Windows Server 2000/2003 and SQL Demonstrated
experience in building and maintaining relationships across technical and
business teams
