AS400 developer
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
· Strong AS/400 and RPG programming background required.
· *5-10 years of Telecom experience*, 10+ years of expertise
in RPG programming and 5+ years expertise in PL/SQL queries/programming and
Oracle/DB2 database.
· Preferred: 5+ DPI knowledge, including how to execute and
trouble-shoot jobs and how to assist external interface files test.
Roles and responsibility
*Analyst/Developer (RPG/AS400 Programmer) III*
*Summary*
Responsible for working with and leading other team members to analyze and
correct system issues as well as develop system enhancements. Excellent
verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented with strong
analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with strong
interpersonal skills.
*Education/Experience*
· Strong AS/400 and RPG programming background required.
· *5-10 years of Telecom experience*, 10+ years of expertise
in RPG programming and 5+ years expertise in PL/SQL queries/programming and
Oracle/DB2 database.
· Preferred: 5+ DPI knowledge, including how to execute and
trouble-shoot jobs and how to assist external interface files test.
· Experience in large volumes, optimizations, building
efficiencies both in coding and in database design.
· Experience with 1-2 large data conversions, with
end-to-end SDLC experience, is preferred.
· Must be detail-oriented and can stay focused on the task
at hand.
· Ability to interpret sometimes complex SQL statements used
by data mappers.
· Ability to identify, quantify, and track conversion issues
found via Quality Center.
· Additional skills: Microsoft Excel, SQL, database design
concepts, iSeries knowledge, and excellent verbal and written English
language skills.
· Ability to work in a fast pace environment and must be
willing to work long hours as necessary.
· CC&B: specializing in Trickle Cash, Remittance, and AR,
including knowledge of external feeds to/from Banks, payment centers,
Collections Agencies, Posting, Rating, Billing, including Unbilled/Unposted
Usage and external feeds related to usage (Dish, Wireline, TOLL, and
Directory Assistance) etc., and internal feeds from Frontier’s Remittance
Center.
Each Sr. Programmer/Analyst takes primary responsibility for at least one
CCR: Service & Equipment, Customer Products, Promotions, and Discounting
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills
Work with different teams – Business, Solutions – AS400, Support lead for
business with complete considerations on supportability to achieve end user
business results
