This person must be a Subject Matter Expert in Websphere and have excellent communication skills**** 4 year degree 10+ years technical experience 6+ years web experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. *Description: * -Consults at the highest technical level with clients and IT management and staffs enterprise-wide on design, planning, integration, implementation, scalability, problem definition and resolution of Web and e-commerce engineering issues involving the interrelated demands of hardware, software, telecommunications, security and control. -Also consults on tactical topics such as system interfaces, integration of e-commerce with core business systems, systems availability and response targets, customer service and support. -Defines and resolves problems related to widely different platforms, hardware, software, coding structures, communication protocols. -Works with vendors and common carriers to resolve Web-related issues. Resolves connectivity issues and workflow problems. -Recommends scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate Web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new Web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Web. -Consults with staff responsible for determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes and response time and system availability targets. -Keeps abreast of new technological developments. -Conducts evaluations of new products and vendor proposals. -Engineer must be an SME for WebSphere. -Experience installing, administering and monitoring tasks related to the support of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) version 6.1 or greater in UNIX and Windows Environment. -Experience installing, administering and monitoring tasks related to the support of tomcat and Jboss -Experience with IBM MQ Workflow and or IBM WebSphere Process Server -Experience with Weblogic Server 9.2 -Should be comfortable working with Linux, AIX, Solaris, and Windows operating systems. -Provide 24/7 support to production servers when on-call -Willing to work alternate Shift - Ability to troubleshoot problems and analyze performance statistics related to web architecture and applications in conjunction with development team, networking team, and vendor. -Troubleshoot and identify root cause of critical issues. -Able to install and tune web servers such as SunOne 6.1 and apache. -Should know SSL fundamentals. -Should know how to analyze heap and java dumps using the dump analyzer tools. - Strong communications skills, both in writing and speaking. -Work independently and also as a team member. -Mentor junior team members in day to day activity.
