Location: Albany, NY. *Candidates should have at least 60 months experience, and at least one of the following should apply:* - Demonstrated hands-on experience with developing and maintaining logical and physical dimensional data models, building data migration strategies utilizing sound concepts of data modeling including star schema, snowflake schema, etc. - Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in a data modeling tool (e.g, ErWin) - Demonstrated hands-on experience in relational data management disciplines and strong design and development experience using Oracle technologies. - Demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL programming. - In-depth hands-on experience with business intelligence tools (e.g.OBIEE 11G) which demonstrates a strong data analytics background. - Demonstrated hands-on, in-depth understanding of how to design and create BI applications and health care business intelligence reporting solutions. - Demonstrated analytics and communications experience (e.g., math, statistics, quantitative methods, and writing proficiency). - Bachelors degree in business intelligence, information science, computer science, or mathematics - A copy of the degree must be submitted with the Candidate Response Form. Rate: $ 62/ hr C2C or $ 56/ hr W2 *Job Description:* Analyze and re-engineer the State Aid Formula Modeling process which is used to Project State Aid payments to schools based on varying factors. Provide a cost/benefit analysis of possible replacement solutions. * Duties include but are not limited to the following: * - Work with SA analyst to understand existing high level functional requirements of the SA modeling process. - Review and analyze the existing StateAid (SA) modeling process. - Review COBOL programs/WFL configurations to gain an understanding of how the existing SA modeling process works. - Investigate alternative approaches for replacing the Unisys mainframe-based SA Modeling process. - Architect/propose new SA Modeling solutions using custom software, COTS products, BI tools, etc. - Develop cost/benefit analysis for proposed solutions. - Demonstrate proof of concept prototype for proposed solutions. *Candidates should have at least 60 months experience, and at least one of the following should apply:* Experience with Data Analysis utilizing Financial Modeling/Forecasting tools or principles. Experience using Business Intelligence and/or Reporting Tools to produce parameter driven reports. Experience with Data Warehouse design and implementation.
