*Only Local to CO* Description: Location: Littleton, CO Duration: 12 month contract Network Engineer Job Responsibilities: Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems. Network Engineer Job Duties: • Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization. • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, and managing projects. • The design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment. • Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources. • Deep understanding of Firewall policy as it relates to IT security policy. Collaborate with IT security. • The design of routing and switching environments. • In depth understanding of IP voice services and QoS policies. • Remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation. • Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers. • Interface with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
