Description:
Gilead Sciences seeks an experienced SharePoint Developer who will be
responsible for Gilead’s Enterprise SharePoint 2013 environment. The
Developer will work closely with System Manager, Operations and Support
Lead and other functional groups to design, develop, and engineer company's
enterprise Microsoft SharePoint 2013 system. The Architect will also work
with members of the Architecture Review Board, Enterprise Architect,
Infrastructure Architecture/Engineering team, Data Integration
Architecture/Engineering team and other internal IT teams to balance the
roadmap of SharePoint with other architectural roadmaps in Gilead IT.
Gilead follows the “Architect Also Implements” methodology, which means
that this developer position will also have the opportunity to play a role
on IT projects related to SharePoint, offering architectural support as
projects are executed.

collaboration environment, so everything in our SharePoint environment is
designed using Responsive Web Design and tested on a wide variety of mobile
devices and desktop browsers. Our SharePoint environment is
mission-critical, so we support it on a 24/7 Operational Basis. This role
will play a critical role in developing and architecting our SharePoint
environment for Gilead’s present and future strategic needs.




*Essential Duties and Job Functions:•Lead development activities related
Gilead’s Enterprise SharePoint 2013 on-premises environment including
architecture, expansion and improvement•Contribute to the Gilead
Collaboration Strategy, as related to SharePoint’s place in that
strategy•Formulate Gilead’s Enterprise SharePoint 2013 platform evolution*.
•Create and maintain Gilead’s SharePoint technology roadmap, including
utilization of third-party solutions and upgrade strategies. Incorporate
aspects from Infrastructure and Enterprise architecture areas in this
roadmap.
•Test recommended and emerging SharePoint and application development
software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and
development efforts
•Provide Subject Matter Expertise on SharePoint 2013 to IT teams and
business users of SharePoint 2013, offering advice and coaching on best
practices
•Develop and maintain standards and policies related to the Enterprise
SharePoint environment. Document solutions and operating procedures and
train personnel on executing in accordance with the procedures. Create
Solution Design, System Configuration, etc. deliverables in collaboration
with other teams.
•Maintain system architecture diagrams and review interdependent system
architecture diagrams (network, integration/middleware, storage, etc.)
•Contribute to code and site reviews, in accordance with SOPs and
Governance standards
•Assist with efficient implementation of new software products, tools or
systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues. Assist with software
improvements and upgrades.






*Knowledge, Experience and Skills:•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or
an equivalent of work related experience.• MUST have SharePoint 2013
experience. 4 years minimum SharePoint development experience •Experience
configuring and managing a SharePoint-based Intranet. Proven ability to
troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint issues in a Production
(high-criticality) environment•5+ years (or equivalent) leveraging
SharePoint in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and
support of large, complex, enterprise-level solutions. Experience with
capacity sizing, server farm creation, networking, clustering, performance
monitoring and optimization.•3+ years participating in Architecture
activities, focused on SharePoint*
•Self-motivated, Customer and Delivery focused. Ability to convey thoughts
and ideas clearly and effectively in written and verbal form and have an
aptitude for problem solving.
•In-depth understanding of enterprise portals, collaboration tools,
enterprise search, document and content management, and forms-based
business process is required.
•Hands on Experience in using Web Parts, Site Collections, Content
Deployment, InfoPath Forms, Excel Services, Business Data Catalogs, Site
Columns, Content Types, Authorizations, Advanced Search, Master pages and
Content pages, Search settings, SharePoint 2013 workflows to accomplish
business needs.
•Knowledge of FAST search engine technology, and specific experience
integrating with Line of Business (Lob) applications is a plus
•Good knowledge of Power Shell commands for SharePoint 2013. Knowledge of
Microsoft SQL Server, IIS.
•Proven experience with optimization, troubleshooting principles,
methodologies and issue resolution techniques.
•Strong documentation creation and editing skills. Able to give examples of
creating documentation and leveraging that documentation to improve
facilitate architectural decisions.
•Microsoft SharePoint certification is highly preferred, but not required*.*
