*Web Designer* *Boston/Back Bay area* *6+ months* *Phone / Skype Hire* *Purpose:* The web developer is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying the website, from layout to function and according to the agency's specifications. S/he strives to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. Complete an assessment of the current website with respect to user experience and architecture. *Responsibilities * - Assess/monitor user experience and site architecture. - Partners with graphic designer, and other members of our client's communications team, to concept and develop digitized images, banners, charts, image maps, audio/video elements, and other graphics to enhance appearance of site. - Analyzes, reviews, and alters code to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. - Replaces, deletes, or modifies codes to correct errors. - Plans, designs, evaluates, develops, tests, edits, maintains, and documents look and flow of website. - Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. - Assists in solving operating problems with site. - Applies knowledge of database design standards and database management. *Qualifications * - Deep expertise and hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, APIs. - Understands cross-browser compatibility, web user interface design (UI), security principles, object-oriented design, web services (REST/SOAP), multimedia content development, dynamic programming - Possesses excellent project management and communication skills with the confidence to ask questions and challenge assumptions. - Has robust capacity to work with numbers, words, topography, imagery, and art.
