*Position : Database Security DBA ( Oracle and SQL) * *Duration : 6+ Months * *Location : downtown Atlanta, GA* *Phone / Skype Job Responsibilities: *This position requires knowledge of and experience in implementing and using both data and database security processes and technologies. This position will work closely with other DBAs, engineers, architects, security groups, and application support to help design and implement security best practices that could include: · database authentication technologies · data and database encryption · network encryption · management of powerful user database access · database and data monitoring and auditing · database privilege management · sensitive data discovery · SQL injection detection · data redaction · data masking In addition, this position is one of many database administrators that interfaces closely with portfolio and business unit developers to design, implement, tune, and troubleshoot database solutions for new development projects, enhancements to existing solutions, and implementation of purchased vendor packages. A DBA ensures that proper creation, support, placement, performance and security are in place for Southern Company data. Significant coordination is required with developers and infrastructure support groups for operating system upgrades, software upgrades, migrations, and hardware replacements. *Education / Experience* · Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred · 7+ years of professional or military experience working with Oracle Database Technology · In-depth knowledge of DBMS related technologies and DBMS security related technologies (specifically Oracle) · Experience with Oracle Database Vault, Oracle Audit Vault / Database Firewall, Oracle Advanced Security, Oracle Data Masking Pack, Oracle Directory Services (Oracle Unified Directory, Oracle Virtual Directory), Microsoft Active Directory, IBM Data Protection and Privacy products (Guardium product suite, IBM InfoSphere Optim Data Masking) *Job Responsibilities* This person will initially focus on data and database security strategies. Provide recommendations and drive and/or participate in projects to perform the following for Oracle and SQL Server databases: · Implement and support processes to discover sensitive data · Implement and support database and privilege security auditing and monitoring · Implement and support database and network encryption where needed · Implement and support technologies to strengthen database authentication · Implement and support technologies and processes to manage and audit powerful ID access · Implement and support technologies to manage database passwords · Test data redaction and data masking technologies as needed · Cross-train DBA partners for depth · Strengthen database patching processes and initiate and track database patching projects · Work across the DBA team, the IT department, and the business to recommend, support and implement data and database security technologies and solutions *In addition to the above, responsibilities will include all functions of the traditional DBA role.* Perform database support and maintenance, consisting of: · DBMS and related software installs, upgrades and patches (including security patching) · Logical and physical database design · Structure modifications / schema management · Database Reorganizations · Space monitoring and management / Capacity planning · Performance analysis and tuning (both at SQL and DBMS level) · Data integrity checks and cleanup · Database backups and recovery · Disaster recovery · Data loads · Coding, maintaining and consulting on database procedures and triggers · Troubleshooting DBMS and related problems · Participate in on-call duty pager rotation · Consultation on database issues and tools with internal customers and other IT groups · Build and maintain relationships with customers, peers, staff and other IT groups · Provide project activities in compliance with the approved methodologies and standards · Provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance / enhancements for existing applications · Participate in or lead special projects/assignments · Meet schedules and estimates for assigned tasks · Provide regular status updates *Job Requirements* · In-depth knowledge of Oracle (10g, 11g, 12c) · In-depth knowledge of database security technologies and processes and data privacy technologies and processes, · In depth knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley controls. · Knowledge of database high availability, replication, and disaster recovery architectures. · Working knowledge of Unix/ Linux platforms and operating systems including scripting, editors, etc. · Working knowledge and understanding of software development technologies, methodologies, and associated tools · Working knowledge of application architectures (Web, Client Server, Batch, etc.) · Knowledge of other database technologies and platforms · Experience with database support of Oracle applications/ ERPs (EBusiness Suite, PeopleSoft) is a plus. · Experience with Oracle middleware, WebLogic, Oracle Access Manager, OID is a plus · Working knowledge of typical IT organization and business units · Awareness of energy industry trends, opportunities and challenges is a plus Regards , Kailash Negi VSG Business Solutions Phone: 302-261-3207 x 102 Email: kail...@vsgbusinesssolutions.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
